We all recognize that our visitors come to the whole valley, not just individual towns or counties. They ride the train in Conejos County, soak in the hot springs in Saguache County, visit the Dunes in Alamosa County, fish in Rio Grande County, go the theater in Mineral County and visit the fort in Costilla County.

We are in this together, and we show that by working together. The San Luis Valley Tourism Association recognizes the fact that our Valley is NOT top-of-mind to a majority of potential visitors. In fact, we’re a relatively unknown destination. That’s bad news, and that’s good news. It’s bad news because we’re not achieving our potential. It’s good news because it means we have a new story to tell, a new place to discover, an untapped and unspoiled experience to share. That is exactly what we are doing, telling our story and attracting new visitors.

The San Luis Valley Tourism Association is a membership organization with members from the lodging, attraction, services, financial, agricultural and other industries. Some members are active in the Board and Committees, some just provide financial support and get involved in the cooperative advertising opportunities. All members join with the vision of one strong effort, unified and collaborative, to attract more visitors to our vast Valley.

Join in the most popular business event of the year for the San Luis Valley. Attend the Annual San Luis Valley Tourism Conference. This year’s theme is Agri-Tourism and will provide information on how both the tourism and agricultural industries of the Valley can benefit by partnering. There are also great workshops on improving the quality of heritage sites, search engine optimization and on-line social media marketing. October 29, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the Inn of the Rio Grande in Alamosa.
